RUSTON, La. – The Louisiana Tech soccer team closes its home season at noon Sunday against Nevada at Joe Aillet Stadium.
After a 2-0 loss to Fresno State, the Lady Techsters (4-8-2, 0-4-0 WAC) are looking to win the second match of Parents’ Weekend. Following the match against the Bulldogs, Tech coach Jennifer Burns said the statistics sheet did not portray how her team played.
The Wolfpack (8-4-3, 1-2-1) lost on the road to Utah State 2-0 on Friday night. Nevada dominated the game statistically, out shooting the Aggies 25-12 for the match but could not come up with the win. Utah State scored both goals in the second half to stay undefeated in conference play at 3-0-1.
Tech is still looking for its first conference win in school history since joining the WAC last year in soccer. The Lady Techsters can also still reach the WAC Championship Tournament in Reno, Nevada.
“If we can get a win this weekend, and then beat Idaho or Boise State next weekend, we can reach the conference tournament,” Burns said.
The match can be seen on WAC.tv for $5.95. For more information on viewing the game via WAC.tv on the Internet visit www.wac.tv.
