RUSTON-- The Louisiana Tech Lady Techster (7-9-0; 0-6-0 WAC) Soccer team was on the receiving end of bad luck yesterday when they faced the Idaho Vandals on the Lady Techster Soccer Field by losing 2-0.
The Lady Techsters got down early off a thirty-plus yard shot from Idaho forward Eija Hogdin that was called a goal since the officials believed Chrissy Haisler made the save inside the line. The Vandals scored again almost 20 minutes later to go up 2-0 for the day.
The Techsters were also a foul call away from scoring their first conference goal in the second half of the game off a corner kick-header combination that was called back for holding the goalie.
Now the Techsters hope to end the season on a high note when the Boise State Lady Broncos (9-7-2; 3-3-0 WAC) come to town for the last game of the season tomorrow at the Lady Techster Soccer Field at 11 a.m. Boise State is coming off a 4-0 rout by Utah State.
The Techsters will be on the outside looking in at the WAC tournament as six other conference teams already clinched a berth.
Tech’s future will look bright as they are only losing one senior from their 7-9 squad in Julie Hadzic and looks to return a more experienced team for 2006.
