RUSTON - The Western Athletic Conference postseason honors were announced last night at the league's annual banquet where Louisiana Tech senior defender Mo Rockwell and junior forward Emily Brennan were both voted second team All-WAC by the league's nine head coaches.

This was a first-time honor for both standouts and marked only the second year in the LA Tech soccer program's short history that named Lady Techster players for the end-of-season WAC awards.

After scoring only three goals total in her first two years as a key reserve, Brennan has more than doubled that amount in her breakout junior year with netting a team-leading seven goals, three of which were game-winning goals.

Her highlight goal came at home on Oct. 5 against No. 19 ranked Denver. With the Lady Techsters down 1-0 to the Pioneers and only two minutes remaining in the match, the Plano, Texas native took a touch off a set piece and netted the game-tying goal. LA Tech would go on to tie the nationally ranked squad.

While Brennan just became a staple in the starting lineup this year, Rockwell has been a key anchor for the defense ever since she stepped foot on campus as a freshman from Salt Lake City, Utah.

She has started 19 of 20 games this season on the backline which set two new LA Tech defensive records for most shutouts (12), four of which came during conference play, and fewest goals allowed (13).

The defender and forward will aim to advance their team in the WAC Tournament in their first round match versus Seattle to be played at the Chuck and Gloria Bell Soccer Field today in Logan, Utah at 3:30 p.m. (CT).

The Western Athletic Conference, in conjunction with its Web site partner NeuLion, will stream all of the matches of the 2012 WAC Soccer Tournament.
