Kgoale, Laque Earn First Team C-USA All-Academic Honors

They garnered two spots on the 11-person first team, marking the second straight season LA Tech has had multiple players receive C-USA All-Academic accolades.
Kgoale, a versatile midfielder from Polokwane, South Africa, has a 3.53 cumulative GPA in sociology. She was named to the C-USA Commissioner’s Honor Roll as a junior.
On the pitch, the First Team All-Conference selection has been a force with 15 total points (third most on the team) on six goals and three assists.
She registered the equalizing goal and assisted on the game-winning goal to help the Lady Techsters overcame a one-goal deficit in the second half and advance to the C-USA Tournament semifinals.
Laque, a four-year defender from Lafayette, boast a 3.81 cumulative GPA in kinesiology and health promotions. She was named to the C-USA Commissioner’s Honor Roll as a sophomore and as a junior. She also earned the C-USA Academic Medal for the 2016-17 academic year.
Laque has been just as solid on the field as she has been in the classroom, making 84 appearances as a Lady Techsters which is a program record for career matches played.
Along with helping the back line register six shutouts, she has registered two goals this season which both came on converted penalty kicks. That brought her career total to six which is also a program record.
The two seniors will lead LA Tech into the C-USA Tournament semifinals versus Charlotte. Kickoff is set for Friday, Nov. 3 at 10 a.m. CT.
