After not playing in seven days due to the inclement weather in the north Louisiana, the Louisiana Tech Lady Techster softball team shook the rust off and swept Southern 8-0 and Detroit 3-2 at the Lady Jaguar Softball Complex Saturday.
Mother Nature has not been kind to outdoor sports over the last week in the north Louisiana area as rain, sleet and snow have cancelled numerous sporting events.
Louisiana Tech Softball will still host its LA Tech Triple Play tournament this weekend with Detroit-Mercy and Southern but it will have a South Louisiana feel to it. Due to recent inclement weather and field conditions, the LA Tech-hosted tournament will be played at Southern University in Baton Rouge instead of Ruston.
Due to the field conditions caused by the winter storm which blanketed the South Monday, Louisiana Tech's scheduled softball game against Stephen F. Austin has been postponed.

Pauline Tufi and Janine Godwin each homered twice and Louisiana Tech totaled six bombs in completing a doubleheader sweep over Lamar Friday, defeating the Cardinals 12-0 and 10-6 at the Lady Techster Softball Complex.
Future Louisiana Tech Lady Techster and current Western Nebraska star Jessica Ball was named the National Junior College Athletic Association Division I Player of the Week following her performance in her teams 10 games during the week.
