Cross then followed with an RBI double down the left field line and Courtney Lowe plated the final run with a sacrifice fly to center.

While Duran was retiring all nine batters she faced in the circle, the Tech offense continued to plate runs. Tufi drove home two more runs in the top of the second inning with a double, scoring Miles and Charters who both reached on infield singles.

Tufi and Cross ignited a six-run third inning as Louisiana Tech defeated Southern 10-1 in the second game of the afternoon.

With the two teams scoreless heading into the top of the third inning, Tufi doubled to right center field, scoring Miles and Erin Kipp to make the score 2-0. Duran then followed with an RBI single down the right field line, scoring Tufi. Following a walk by Winter, Cross launched her second home run of the day, a three-run shot to left centerfield and the Techsters led 6-0.

Just like the first game of the day, Duran worked a perfect first three innings. However, in the fourth she surrendered an infield single and walk before Tufi came on in relief to get out of the frame.

Tufi and Duran led the frame off with back-to-back singles and then Winter doubled to right center, scoring Tufi. Cross then drove home her fourth run of the game - and eighth of the day - with an RBI ground out to make the score 9-1.
