Starkville, Miss. - Krissi Oliver's three-run home run over the left centerfield wall lifted Louisiana Tech to a 7-1 win over Charleston Southern Sunday afternoon at the 2008 Bulldog Classic hosted by Mississippi State.

Oliver's shot came in the bottom of the second inning after Regan Clark reached on an error leading off the frame and Kylie Bassett followed with a walk. The home run gave Tech a 3-0 lead.

Tech (13-11) added a fourth run in the frame as Heather Doiron singled, stole second, moved to third on an infield hit and then scored on a throwing error on a successful steal attempt of second base by Emma Barnes.

The Lady Techsters added one run in the third Amberly Waits led the frame off with a triple and scored on a sacrifice fly by Clark. Tech then scored two more in the sixth on Doiron's two-run single down the left field line.

Mandi Bertsch (5-3) pick up the win in the circle, allowing one run - unearned - on four hits in 4.1 innings of action.

Freshman Meghan Krieg pitchd the final 2.2 innings, allowing no hits and two walks while striking out four.

Bassett led Tech with two hits while Barnes, Waits, Oliver, Doiron and Claire Gibson each registered one hit.
