RUSTON - San Jose State scored in every inning but one and Amanda Pridmore became the Spartans all-time strikeout leader in a 12-0 win over Louisiana Tech Friday night at the Lady Techster Softball Complex.

Pridmore (18-9) picked up her 18th win of the season, recording the six-inning complete-game shutout while allowing only four hits and one walk with five strikeouts.

The Spartans (30-13, 8-2 WAC) capitalized on some wildness by the Tech pitching staff early and then erupted for seven runs on eight hits in the top of the sixth to blow the game open. Anna Cross, Michelle Jones and Erin Kipp combined to allow the 12 runs on 11 hits with eight walks, one hit batter and two wild pitches.

Cross (5-4) started the game and allowed only two hits in 3.0 innings of action but left the game in the top of the fourth inning down 4-0. The freshman walked the bases loaded in the first and then issued a walk to Vanessa House as San Jose State took an early 1-0 lead.

After a 1-2-3 top of the second inning, San Jose State plate two more runs in the top of the third inning as Markesha Collins doubled and Cheryl Freitas singled and both runners scored on a pair of wild pitches to give the Spartans a 3-0 advantage.

Tech (20-18, 5-5) had its best scoring opportunity of the night against Pridmore in the bottom of the third as Dacia Hale and Cross both singled in the frame. Cross stole her team-leading 18th base to put runners on second and third with only one out, but Pridmore struck out Amanda Krueger and pinch hitter Alayna Kipp to end the threat.

The Spartans added a single run in the fourth on an RBI single by Michelle Cox and then added an unearned run in the fifth on a two-out throwing error by the Tech infield that was caused by the setting sun getting into the eyes of first baseman Meghan Knowles.

Heading into the top of the sixth, San Jose State led 5-0 despite both teams registering only three hits each. However, the Spartans then plated seven runs on eight hits - including five extra base hits - to push the lead to 12-0.

Offensively, Tech was led by Kruger (1-3), Hale (1-2), Jones (1-2) and Cross (1-2, 1 SB).

The two teams will return to action Saturday with a 1 p.m. doubleheader.
