RUSTON -- Louisiana Tech's baseball and softball teams will come together for the 2009 "Meet n' Greet" Monday, Feb. 9, at 7:15 p.m. at J.C. Love Field at Pat Patterson Park.
All fans of the Bulldogs and Lady Techsters are welcome to attend. Fans will have the opportunity to meet coaches and players from both teams, collect autographs, pick up the new 2009 baseball/softball pocket schedule and sign up for season tickets.
This year's event is once again sponsored by Wal-Mart and it will include free food for all fans (hot dogs, chips and drinks).
The festivities are scheduled to take place on the playing field at the ballpark. If there is a chance of inclement weather, the event will occur in the stands.
Tech head baseball coach Wade Simoneaux is looking forward to the event as it will help fans meet the new players on this year's team.
"We have a large number of new guys this year," Simoneaux said. "This event is a great opportunity for our fans to meet our new and returning players prior to the start of the season."
Tech head softball coach Sarah Dawson believes the event will allow fans to reconnect with her players from the 2008 team.
"The Meet n' Greet is a great opportunity for our fans to not only see, but talk to our players," Dawson said. "We have many returning players on this year's squad so our fans will recognize several players that had success last year.
"There is a lot of excitement right now for baseball and softball to begin, and we are looking forward to both teams having a good spring season."
