@LATechSB Travels South for Mid-Week Games

RUSTON, La. – Louisiana Tech will make the first of two trips to south Louisiana this week when the Lady Techsters softball team travels to play Southeastern Louisiana Tuesday and McNeese State Wednesday.
Tech (1-4) will then head to Baton Rouge Friday for the LSU Purple and Gold Challenge.
Tuesday night’s contest in Hammond against the Lions will start at 5 p.m. Live video streams of both midweek games are available on the Southeastern Louisiana and McNeese State websites through paid subscriptions.
The Lady Techsters are coming off their opening weekend that saw them post a 1-4 record with a pair of one-run losses to No. 21 James Madison and Long Beach State. Tech also defeated the Dukes 3-2 in the weekend finale in Puerta Vallarta.
Head coach Mark Montgomery’s team struggled offensively, batting only .198 as a team with only three extra base hits and only eight runs in the five games.
In the circle, Tech saw five pitchers earn innings, including Bailey Allen (0-0, 2.00 ERA), Prelsee Gallaway (1-2, 3.34 ERA), Jensen Howell (0-1, 4.67 ERA), Krystal De La Cruz (0-1, 5.00 ERA) and Jenny Chapman (0-0, 5.25 ERA).
Southeastern Louisiana (2-0) and McNeese State (4-0) are both undefeated heading into the contests against the Lady Techsters.
