Softball prepares for weekend tournament
Louisiana Tech will be looking to play in its first tournament action in two years when they travel to Monroe for this weekend's ULM Mardi Gras Softball Classic.
"Playing in tournaments like this one gives us a chance to play different teams that we wouldn't normally play," head coach Sarah Dawson said
Competing in this year's tournament is host ULM, Tulsa, UL-Lafayette, Mercer, Auburn, Baylor and Southeastern Louisiana along with the Lady Techsters.
Tech's first game will be Friday when it battles ULM at 6 p.m. The Techsters will play three games on Saturday with the championship breakdone set for Sunday.
"We've proved we can play against some of the better teams in the nation," Dawson said "We're just looking to get some more consistent play."
