@LATechSB Adds Tyler JC Signee

April 16, 2018

RUSTON – Louisiana Tech head coach Mark Montgomery announced Monday that Tyler Junior College outfielder Rebecca Snow has signed a national letter of intent to play for the Lady Techsters.

“Becca is such a great kid,” said Montgomery. “She brings a solid left-handed bat to challenge the lineup, plus another outfielder to add depth where we really need it.”

Snow is in her sophomore season at Tyler Junior College where she is playing for head coach Maria Winn and the Apache. The Tomball, Texas, native is batting .381 with 47 runs, 39 RBI, 13 doubles and five home runs this year, leading the Apache to a 42-5 record.

As a freshman, Snow batted .475 with 51 runs, 66 RBI, 19 doubles and seven home runs while earning first team 1st team All-Conference Region XIV East, Co-Player of the Year Region XIV East, 1st team All-Region XIV, 1st team NFCA All Midwest Region DP, 2nd Team NFCA and NJCAA All American honors.

“Becca has tremendous power at the plate and a big-time arm,” said Winn. “Not only is she a great softball player but she a great student of the game and in the classroom. I am very excited for Becca and her family to be a part of such an amazing program at Tech.”

Snow prepped at Klein Oak High School for coach Javier Vela for four years where she was a three-time all-district selection.

“I really love the school,” said Snow. “I think I would have attended Louisiana Tech even if I wasn’t going to play softball. I also really like the coaching staff, and I am very excited to be part of the program.”

Snow joins a LA Tech signing class that includes Lindsay Edwards (Plano, Texas/Plano Senior HS), Hannah Koenig (Brentwood, Tennessee/Brentwood HS), Meghan Robicheaux (Broussard, La./Catholic HS) and Mia Voges (Las Vegas, Nevada/Shadow Ridge HS), who all signed their NLI’s in the early signing period in November.

Snow is the second recent Tyler JC student-athlete to sign with the Lady Techsters as current junior centerfielder and all-conference performer Jazlyn Crowder started her career with the Apache.
