Tech Travels to NSU for Midweek Game

RUSTON – The Louisiana Tech softball team will try to snap its 11 game losing streak when the Lady Techsters travel to Natchitoches to face the Northwestern State Demons Wednesday at 6 p.m.

Tech (20-33) plays its last non-conference game of the year before ending the regular season this weekend with a three-game Western Athletic Conference series against Nevada in Ruston.

Offensively, Tech is led by outfielder Emma Barnes (.349, 28 runs, 21 SB) and shortstop Amberly Waits (.294, 18 extra base hits, 24 RBI) while sophomore Krissi Oliver (15-23) continues to lead the team in the circle with a 3.31 earned run average.

Northwestern State (27-27) defeated Tech in the first meeting between the two teams this year, a 15-9 victory in Ruston in February.

Senior Lyndsey Gorski leads the team with a .322 batting average, while freshman Amanda Jameson continues to improve, now with a season average of .321.
