SEATTLE - Louisiana Tech will wrap up its regular season this weekend with a three-game Western Athletic Conference road series at Seattle as the Lady Techsters and Redhawks are both sitting in a four-way tie for third place in the current league standings.

The series will begin Friday with a 5 p.m. CT doubleheader followed by Saturday's single game set for 3 p.m.

Both teams are looking to secure a spot in the upcoming WAC Tournament which will be hosted by Louisiana Tech May 8-11 in Ruston. Only the top six teams (out of eight) in the final WAC standings will qualify for the four-day event.

Tech (23-24, 8-10) can lock up its spot in the event by virtue of either one win this weekend or one loss by UT-Arlington in its three-game series at UTSA. The Lady Techsters could finish as high as the No. 3 seed in the event or could drop all the way to seventh in the league standings, thus failing to reach the tournament.

Seattle (20-30, 8-10) is also looking to qualify for the event and is in the same scenario as the Lady Techsters. The Redhawks could finish as high as No. 3 or could fail to qualify for the event, depending on this weekend's outcome.

The Redhawks, who are in their first year as a member of the WAC, are one of the top fielding teams in the league, sporting a team fielding percentage of .968.

Offensively, Seattle U. is led by Isabella Geronimo (.309, 24 RBI), Allegra Wilde (.276, 1 HR, 14 RBI), Brittney Lott (.276, 1 HR, 19 RBI), Bubba Morrow (.270, 7 HR, 26 RBI) and Lisa Maulden (.255, 6 HR, 22 RBI).

In the circle, Richelle Ashburn (11-12, 3.27 ERA) and Mandi Sugita (6-12, 3.97 ERA) have garnered the majority of innings this year while Jessica Ulrich (3-6, 5.76) has also seen action in relief.

LA Tech has seen its team batting average drop over the past few weeks although the Lady Techsters still rank No. 1 in the league in hitting. Kristen Miles (.357, 33 runs, 16-19 SB), Erin Kipp (.344, 3 HR, 19 RBI), Anna Cross (.336, 6 HR, 27 RBI, 19-21 SB), Amanda Krueger (.331, 34 runs, 6 HR, 25 RBI), Mel Goff (.330, 28 RBI) and Janna Frandrup (.304, 24 RBI) are all hitting over .300.

In the circle, Tech has relied mostly on the trio of Anna Cross (6-7, 3.08), Mel Goff (2-5, 3.40) and Michelle Jones (11-8, 3.54) during WAC play while Frandrup (1-2, 6.27) has seen some action in relief.
