RUSTON - Another Louisiana Tech softball signee earned another postseason accolade as Pineville High School pitcher Bailey Allen was named the MVP on the Alexandria Town Talk's All-Cenla Team released Sunday.

Allen, who will be suiting up in a Lady Techster uniform starting this fall, led Pineville High School to a top 10 ranking in Class 5A, a tied for second place in District 2-5A behind eventual state champion Ouachita and an appearance in the Fast Pitch 56 in Sulphur.

While recording a 16-7 record and a 1.86 earned run average her senior year, Allen capped her prep career by leading the Lady Rebels to a win over top-seeded St. Amant in a quarterfinal upset. She led Pineville to its deepest run in the playoffs since 2008 while striking out 171 batters in 143 innings.

Allen joins three other Lady Techster signees who earned recent honors as Airline High School's Katie Smith was named the Player of the Year and Evangel's Carolina Sanchez the Pitcher of the Year on the Shreveport Times All-City Team while North Caddo High School's Kassidy Harris was named the MVP for the West Squad at this weekend's LSCA All-Star game.
