June 25, 2013

RUSTON - Softball Canada announced Monday that Louisiana Tech signee Tori Charters earned a spot on the roster for the national junior team that will represent Canada at the 2013 ISF X Junior Women's World Championship in Brampton, Ontario July 1-7.

Charters, who was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada and who just graduated from Keller High School in Texas, was one of approximately 80 participants who began the selection process by attending one of the two regional evaluation camps in Canada in early June.

The speedy outfielder will join the Lady Techsters this fall after leading the Indians to a 30-6-1 record as a senior. The daughter of Ian and Debra Charters who plays travel ball for the American Freedom Gold is the only slapper that was selected to Team Canada.

Team Canada will open competition July 1 when they face Venezuela and Great Britain. Charters and Co. will face Team USA July 3. To follow Charters and her teammates, fans can log onto
