Quintin Yray enters his sixth season as head coach of the Louisiana Tech tennis coach.
Led the Lady Techsters to the program's most successful season since 1996 after finishing 2010 with a 11-9 record.
Hired in September 2006, Yray is coming off a season in which he coached the Lady Techsters to their first-ever Western Athletic Conference win with a 5-2 victory over San Jose State.
Before coming to Tech, Yray was coaching tennis at Multnomah Athletic Club in Portland, Ore. At one of the high schools Yray coached, he took students who were actually baseball players to the top. He took players who did not make the baseball team and simply wanted to compete in something and turned them into winners. Twice he took tennis programs from the bottom of their district to the top.
Yray played tennis at Yuba College and MiraCosta College and professionally for two years before a shoulder injury cut his career short. From there he went into coaching.
Yray has two children, Gabriella and Julien.
