BOCA RATON, Fla. - The Louisiana Tech tennis team started and finished strong on Saturday morning as the Lady Techsters swept Conference USA foe Florida Atlantic, 7-0.
"It was a good day for the Lady Techsters, said Chad Camper who picked up his first win as head coach. "We really hit our stride early in doubles and kept on rolling. It was a productive last two days and after a few days off, we will get right back to work."
LA Tech's (1-1, 1-0 C-USA) effort continued into singles with all six players winning in straight sets over FAU (0-1, 0-1 C-USA).
Starkova saw her first action at the No. 1 spot since mid-last season and she certainly rose to the occasion, taking a 6-0, 7-5 victory.
Both LA Tech and FAU entered this season with top-15 Mid-Major recruiting classes according to the Tennis Recruiting Network.
The Lady Techsters will have a two week break before their next dual match on Feb. 9 at Central Arkansas. First serve is set for 10 a.m.
