BEAUMONT, Texas - Louisiana Tech extended its winning streak to five games as they took down Lamar, 6-1, on Saturday evening at the Thompson Family Tennis Center.
The victory by LA Tech (5-1, 1-0 C-USA) was their fifth straight of only allowing one point. It also ended a 10-match regular season home winning streak for LU (2-4) that dated back to March 18, 2012.
"We played well today," said head coach Chad Camper. "All seven women contributed in today's win. We now look forward to tomorrow's match against McNeese which will be a big test."
With all five wins have come the pivotal doubles point and the Lady Techsters were able to snag it with three defeats of 8-2, 8-3 and 8-6.
Alexandra Starkova quickly put LA Tech up 2-0 with a dominating 6-2, 6-0 performance over Dariya Dashutina.
Up next for LA Tech is in-state foe McNeese State. First serve is set for 2:30 p.m. on Sunday.
