SAN JOSE, Calif. - Coming off a loss, the Louisiana Tech tennis team responded in dominating fashion as the Lady Techsters defeated New Mexico State 6-1 and Seattle U 4-0 on Saturday at the Spartan Tennis Complex.

The first ball was served at 9 a.m. local time with LA Tech (8-4, 3-1 WAC) grinding out the doubles point with Joanna Nalborska and Alexandra Starkova edging Annemieke Witte and Denise Van Der Ben 8-6 and Melanie Urvoy and Taly Merker besting Jodie Williams and Mia Brandt 8-3.

First-year head coach Freddy Gomez then used his depth in singles to overpower NMSU (4-10, 0-3 WAC), winning four of the five matches in straight sets.

Manoela Chiacchio joined Starkova and Nalborska in notching at least one set of 6-0 en route to the victory.

Three hours later the Lady Techsters were back on the courts for their fourth match in three days.

LA Tech swept all three doubles matches by scores of 8-3, and saw its consistent singles play blank Seattle U (3-7, 0-2 WAC).

Gomez and Co. have already won three this season with three more conference matches coming up next weekend at the Louisiana Tech Tennis Complex where the Techsters will host Utah State, Denver and UTSA starting on Friday, March 29 at 9:30 a.m. CT.
