RUSTON, La. – Louisiana Tech’s tennis team fell in their home finale 6-1 to Houston Friday night at the Lady Techster Tennis Complex.

The defeat drops the Lady Techsters to 12-6 on the year while the Cougars improve to 12-7.

In doubles action, the teams of senior Maartje de Wit and junior Vivian ten Dolle at No.2 and junior Alena Erofeyeva and freshman Laura Fernandez at No. 3 both fought hard but fell 8- 5 in their respective matches. Houston went on to win at the No. 1 position to sweep the contests.

Erofeyeva improved her singles record to 16-2 in the spring as she defeated Liselot Koenen in three-sets (6-1, 1-6, 6-1) at the No. 4 flight.

The Cougars went on to win the other five singles matches to come away with the win.

Louisiana Tech returns to action Saturday at 2 p.m. as they travel to Baton Rouge to face Southern University.
