LA Tech Shuts Out McNeese State at Home
Louisiana Tech women’s tennis head coach Amanda Stone made a few minor changes to the doubles teams and the singles lineup on Saturday afternoon.

LA Tech (0-1) put up a strong fight in its dual opener which came at Conference USA foe North Texas. The Lady Techsters picked up singles victories from Nadja Manjon and Karla De La Luz Montalvo against the Mean Green.

Meanwhile, players like Claudia Oravcova and Sonia Chen put up strong fights from the No. 1 and No. 4 positions, respectively.

Coupled with the two hidden duals, LA Tech got a lot of matches under its belt during the month of January. On the flipside, their first opponent McNeese State (0-0) will be playing for the first time this spring come Saturday.

Leading the way for the Cowgirls is Hannah Brett who was selected First Team All-Southland last season after putting together a 16-4 singles record.

The Lady Techsters have won three straight matches in the series, including a 5-0 victory last season at home.

On the other end, this will be the first time since 2014 that LA Tech takes on Louisiana-Lafayette (4-0) who enters the weekend undefeated with victories over Southeastern Louisiana, LSU-Alexandria, Southern and Northwestern State.

The Ragin’ Cajuns are led by Kelly Drew who plays primarily from the No. 1 spot. The Lady Techsters won the last meeting, 5-2, which snapped a six-match losing streak.
