RUSTON - Much of this spring season has been spent on the road for Louisiana Tech so it's no surprise the Lady Techsters are enjoying a stretch of three of four matches at home.
On Sunday, they return to the LA Tech Tennis Complex to take on in-state foe Northwestern State at 1 p.m.
If last year is any indication, this could be another marathon battle between the two schools.
"NSU has improved as have we since last season when we won 4-3 at their place," said head coach Chad Camper. "We have new players and they have new players so it will be a different challenge."
LA Tech (13-4) and Northwestern State (12-3) had four singles matches go three sets before Alexandra Starkova clinched the victory with a grueling 6-2, 5-7, 7-5 win.
The two teams have been very successful this season and both will be riding winning streaks into this weekend's clash - LA Tech's seven-match home winning streak versus NSU's 10-match winning streak.
"NSU is a tough team and will forever be a tough match for our program," said Camper. "We are excited about having such a good and competitive match at home. The crowd definitely will be a factor. This match will be a preview of how we will end the regular season.
"Our doubles has been improving and I am excited to see it come together on Sunday."
