@LATechTEN Adds Tarrannum Handa to 2014 Class

RUSTON - Louisiana Tech tennis coach Chad Camper continues to make improvements to the roster as he has signed Tarrannum Handa to a national letter of intent.

Handa, a star player in her home country of India, joins local standout Haley Ballinger as additions to the 2014 class. One more signee will soon be announced to round out the eight-person roster for the up-and-coming program.

"We are excited about Tarrannum joining the LA Tech program," said Camper. "She brings an explosive game and avast amount of experience. Tarrannum will be a key member in furthering the success of our program."

A native of New Delhi, Handa has been ranked in the top 15 of women's and top five of junior's in India.

While playing at the National Institute of Open Schooling, she won gold three times at nationals for the Delhi state tennis team. She was also chosen to represent the Indian Juniors team twice.

Handa frequently made the rounds in playing in Asian Junior tournaments as well, participating in and winning all six she competed in.
