RUSTON - Louisiana Tech head tennis coach Chad Camper put the finishing touches on his first signing class Friday with the addition of Taylor Capannolo.

The Melbourne, Australia native will join forces with local standout Haley Ballinger and highly-ranked Tarrannum Handa of India to team up with five returners for the 2014-15 season.

Capannolo played for the Royal South Yarra Tennis Club while attending school at Methodist Ladies Collage. She is currently the captain of the club team that is top four in the state of Victoria.

She recently won the prestigious Grace Park Tennis Club championship and was chosen to participate in a premier league run by Tennis Australia.

Her ranking has been as high as 103 in all of Australia, a list that includes Samantha Stosur who is No. 19 in the world, while playing Grade 1 Pennant, the strongest competition in Victoria.

Capannolo is also great in the classroom as she was named Head of Houses in the final year of school, an honor bestowed on just two people out of 300. She was also named house sports captain and has earned several leadership and citizenship awards.

The Capanollo's are a tennis family through and through. Taylor's twin sister, Ashleigh, will be playing collegiately this fall at North Carolina State and her cousin, Michaela, currently plays at Pepperdine.
