RUSTON, La. - Louisiana Tech (6-6; 0-0 WAC) fell to McNeese State, 3-1 (23-25; 20-25; 25-23; 11-25) Tuesday night in the Thomas Assembly Center.
The Lady Techsters found themselves behind early to the Cowgirls of McNeese State, falling victim to a number of service errors. Tech recorded seven combined service errors in the first and second set and finished the game tallying 10 total.
LA Tech was also outhit by McNeese State .252-.199 as the Cowgirls had two athletes record double-digit kills. McNeese's Nicole Bowden recorded 15 kills on the night while Taylor Bustamento posted 12 kills.
Despite their slow start the Lady Techsters battled back to win the third set under the leadership of lone senior Bianca Bin, who recorded 11 assists in the third and a combined 40 assists on the night. Sophomore Clara Vido and Junior Marcella Braz also made an apparent impact in the third set as they each recorded six kills apiece. Vido finished the night with 17 kills and Braz totaled 8 kills over the course of the match.
In the end the Cowgirls were too much for Tech as they won the fourth set, 25-11 and pulled out a match victory against the Lady Techsters.
Louisiana Tech will begin a four game road trip this weekend as they partake in the Houston Baptist Tournament in Houston, Texas followed by their conference opener against New Mexico State in Las Cruces, N.M.
