“I am so proud of my volleyball team this weekend,” said head coach Matt Sonnichsen. “It would have been easy for a young team to fold after how Southern Miss just whacked us, but to bounce back and finish with two wins was great.”

“I think we did a really good job on not committing errors and keeping the ball in play,” said Vido. “I think after the match against Texas Tech my personal goal was to help this team and not make errors. I just tried and learn from my mistakes and doing that was on my mind in this tournament.”
Emily Maher also had an outstanding performance against Houston Baptist, recording 13 kills, four blocks and a service ace for the Techsters. Maher finished the tournament with 13 kills, six blocks and a service ace.
“I want to point out the play of our opposite players in Emily (Maher) and Anne Marie (Taylor),” said Sonnichsen. “I have been alternating them in matches because they each bring different strength’s to the floor.”
