RUSTON, La. - The Louisiana Tech volleyball team dropped a thrilling four-set match 3-1 to the New Mexico State Aggies Thursday night in the Pan American Center in Las Cruces, N.M.
The Aggies (9-3, 3-0 WAC) knocked off the Lady Techsters 23-25, 26-24, 25-12, 25-21 in a three-set comeback after Tech stormed from behind to win a competitive first set.
Tech (3-11, 0-2 WAC) stormed out to an early lead in the first set only to drop the final three sets to the conference-leading Aggies on New Mexico State's home court.
"The team played hard today," head coach Adriano de Souza said. "We missed some opportunities in key moments that helped our opponent more than us. In the huddle at the end of the match, I saw a team that is willing to train and keep improving their performances."
Junior Clara Vido recorded her third double-double of the season with 17 kills and 11 digs against New Mexico State. This marks the 17th double-double of her collegiate career.
The Lady Techsters will return to action at 8 p.m., Saturday to face off against conference newcomer Denver at Hamilton Gymnasium in the team's second consecutive road match.
