RUSTON, La. - In the final home match of the season, the Louisiana Tech Lady Techster volleyball squad fell victim to the UTSA Roadrunners and dropped the match in three sets 25-21, 25-16, 25-19 Saturday morning in the Thomas Assembly Center.
The Techsters (17-8, 10-5 WAC) were outhit by the visiting Roadrunners .260 to .091, and .343 in the final set which gave UTSA the win. The WAC Player of the Week, McKenzie Adams, led the offensive onslaught for UTSA with 11 kills and a .241 attacking percentage to lead the Roadrunners Saturday.
LA Tech (3-24, 0-15 WAC) had a chance to take the first set tied at 21-21, but back-to-back errors and a block by the visitors gave UTSA the first set of the match.
Offensively, the Lady Techsters were led by junior Clara Vido who recorded nine kills on the day. Vido also recorded two blocks and five digs against the Roadrunners.
Tech will return to action at 9 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 8 as they will hit the road to face the Idaho Vandals in Moscow in conference action.
