NEW ORLEANS - The Tulane Green Wave proved too strong for Louisiana Tech as the Lady Techsters fell to the home team, 3-0 (25-14, 25-16, 25-18), Friday night at Devlin Fieldhouse in New Orleans.

Tulane controlled the match over the course of three sets, as the Green Wave prevented LA Tech from leading at any point throughout the match.

LA Tech (7-21, 1-12 C-USA) came within just two points of Tulane (25-3, 11-2 C-USA) midway through the first set, but the Green Wave pulled ahead by winning 10 of the next 11 points in the set to take a 1-0 lead early on.

While the Lady Techsters did fall in straight sets, LA Tech continued to improve offensively throughout the match, going from a .033 hitting percentage in the first set to .229 in the third.

Tulane had two players record double-digit kills with Cori Martone recording 14 kills and Annie Shurtz totaling 10 successful attacks in three sets. Tulane barely out-blocked the Lady Techsters with eight total blocks compared to LA Tech's seven. Sarah Strasner led the Green Wave with six total blocks on the night.

Junior outside hitter Xzache Mathis led Louisiana Tech with nine kills, while also tying a season-high with three blocks in the loss. Sophomores Fenix Calderon and Dalane Guidry each totaled seven kills, with Guidry leading the team in attacking percentage with .333.

Senior Caitlin Germany led Louisiana Tech with five total blocks, while also recording five kills and a .231 hitting percentage.

LA Tech returns to action at 1 p.m Sunday as they travel to Houston, Texas to take on Rice in the team's regular season finale at Tudor Fieldhouse.
