RUSTON - The Louisiana Tech volleyball team landed five student-athletes on the 2011 academic all-WAC volleyball team as announced by the conference office Friday afternoon.

To be eligible, a student-athlete must have completed at least one academic year, have at least a 3.0 cumulative grade point average and have participated in at least 50 percent of the team's contests.

Bianca Bin, Caitlin Germany, Nataliya Panova, Clara Vido and Emily Maher were all recipients of this award for their achievements both on the court and inside the classroom.

26 Lady Techsters have been named academic all-WAC under Matt Sonnichsen, the most Tech has had under any volleyball coach in history.

This marks the first such honor for all five girls.
