RUSTON, La. - Louisiana Tech women's soccer team and the Bulldog football players led the way with 15 combined selections as the University placed a total of 23 student-athletes on the Academic All-Western Athletic Conference list during the fall sports seasons for cross country, football, soccer and volleyball.
In order to be eligible for the honor, a student-athlete must have completed at least one academic year, have at least a 3.0 cumulative grade point average and have participated in at least 50 percent of the team's contests.
The Lady Techster soccer team led the way for LA Tech sports this fall with eight athletes recognized, followed by football with seven, five volleyball selections and men's and women's cross country naming three to the list.
Louisiana Tech's recipients for the fall seasons included Taylor Ashton (Cross Country), Emily Brennan (Soccer), Lindsay Brough (Soccer), Maria Coelho (Volleyball), Paige Cooper (Volleyball), Josh Cuthbert (Football), Paige Dunn (Soccer), Heather Fitzgerald (Soccer), Caitlin Germany (Volleyball), Mary Kate Hays (Cross Country), Regan Himmelberg (Volleyball), Ray Holley (Football), Matt Nelson (Football), Solomon Randle (Football), Mo Rockwell (Soccer), Mia Schorpp (Soccer), Abby Sentz (Soccer), Chandler Spence (Football), Andre Taylor (Football), Caitlin Updyke (Soccer), Clara Vido (Volleyball), Stephen Warner (Football) and Matt Wolfe (Cross Country).
Louisiana Tech's student athletes continue to rank among the top in the state and conference in Graduation Success Rate and Academic Progress Rate.
