RUSTON, La. - Louisiana Tech will battle old and new faces once the 2013 volleyball campaign begins this fall as the Lady Techsters are set to host 13 home matches beginning with an appearance in the 2013 UTA Hilton Invitational from Aug. 30-31 in Arlington, Texas.

In its inaugural season as members of Conference USA, LA Tech will face nine teams from last season's schedule, including seven in-state match ups over the course of the 2013 season.

"This is going to be a very important season for our program as we enter Conference USA," head coach Adriano de Souza said. "Our goal is to represent Louisiana Tech to the best of our ability in every match we play. We have five returners who really understand the effort we will have to bring to every practice and every match. Our coaching staff is looking forward to seeing what preseason practices will show us."

The season begins with three matches against Grambling, Abilene Christian and UT Arlington in the 2013 UTA Hilton Invitational in Arlington, Texas.

"Conference USA opponents are strong and will bring good competition to every match we play," de Souza said. "Our goal is to be well prepared for all of them and make sure our team grows from each match & every experience they face."

Tech will play hosts to UTEP and UTSA to kick off the Conference USA schedule. The Miner's will travel to face the Lady Techsters at 7 p.m., Sept. 27, followed by a contest versus former WAC mate UTSA at 2 p.m., Sept. 29 in Ruston.

The Techsters will hit the road once again for a three-match conference road stretch against Charlotte, Marshall and East Carolina beginning Oct. 4 before returning home to the TAC to face Middle Tennessee and Southern Miss Oct. 18 and Oct. 20 respectively.

In the second half of the conference schedule, Louisiana Tech will begin with back-and-forth road-home dates starting with a road contest at Tulsa Oct. 25 before returning home to face FIU Oct. 27. The Techsters will then return to the road to face North Texas Nov. 1 in Denton, Texas.
