Techsters To Play In Arkansas State Classic Volleyball Tournament
Louisiana Tech looks to bounce back on a winning track as the Techsters take to the road to compete in the Arkansas State Classic Volleyball Tournament on Friday and Saturday in Jonesboro, Ark.
Tech will face Arkansas-Little Rock at 9 a.m. on Friday before taking on Arkansas State at 1 p.m. The Techsters will face Jackson State and Austin Peay on Saturday.
Louisiana Tech stands at 0-1 after falling at home to Stephen F. Austin on Thursday night in four sets.
Senior Natalie Shipp led Tech against SFA with a career-high 18 kills in her first action since the 2002 season. Shipp missed all of last season with an injury.
Tech coach Heather Mazeitis said she was just looking for improvement as the Techsters move deeper into non-conference play.
"Non-conference play is all about getting ready for (Western Athletic Conference) play over the next three weeks,” Mazeitis added. “We are going to get better and I would much rather struggle now than later in the season against conference teams."
