Techsters Down Warhawks in Three

RUSTON -- The Louisiana Tech Lady Techsters (5-4) finished the UL-Monroe Warhawks (0-9) off in three games Tuesday night in the Lambright Intramural Center by scores of 30-27, 30-21 and 30-25.

“It was a fun match to watch,” Tech head coach Heather Mazeitis said. “It was good to have a great crowd here tonight.”

Tech’s offense controlled most of the night and made good runs out of their servers for the match.

Preseason All-WAC and senior Shannon Phillips led the Techsters again with 20 kills and eight digs. Senior setter Jill Walker finished with 39 sets, while junior Brittney Nakamura finished with 14 digs.

Tech will return to action Friday night at the UTSA Tournament in San Antonio.
