Techsters Drop First Match in Tulane Tournament

NEW ORLEANS -- The Louisiana Tech Lady Techsters (1-4; 0-0 WAC) lost the first match of the Tulane Tournament Friday afternoon against the Jackonsville State Gamecocks (4-4) in three straight sets by scores of 22-25, 23-25 and 20-25.

Juniors KC Clayton and Sam Crowder both put up good numbers; they finished with nine kills apiece while totaling 3.5 blocks of Tech's 6.0 blocks for the match. Clayton continued her impressive junior campaign with a .474 attack percentage for the match.

Sophomore Bianca Bin finished with 21 assists, while senior Debora Bolonhini totaled 14 digs for the match.

Tech out-blocked JSU 6.0 to 4.0 on the day.

The Techsters will return to action Saturday at 5 p.m. against North Dakota State.
