Lady Techsters Fight Hard with Fresno State
FRESNO, Calif. -- The Louisiana Tech Lady Techsters (5-9; 0-2 WAC) lost to Fresno State (3-9; 1-1 WAC) in three games Saturday night to complete their conference road swing.
The Techsters stayed close in every game, but were unable to capitalize late and lost by scores of 28-30, 28-30 and 25-30.
Senior Shannon Phillips had another stellar performance with 22 kills and 12 digs for another double-double while adding four solo blocks and one block assist. Juniors Brittney Nakamura and Debora Bolonhini finished with 19 and 13 digs, respectively. Sophomore Samantha Crowder also finished with 11 kills and was involved in three blocks. Junior Jill Walker added 39 assists with 13 digs.
“The bottom line is our offense is great sometimes, and then others it’s nonexistent,” Tech head coach Heather Mazeitis said. “Shannon had another great night, and she’s doing what we need her to do.”
The Techsters will return to action Tuesday, Sept. 18, for a non-conference matchup at Northwestern State at 7 p.m.
