Louisiana Tech Falls to Utah State in Straight Sets
Louisiana Tech (9-18; 0-10 WAC) fell to the Utah State Aggies (11-13; 6-5 WAC), in three sets (25-15, 25-17, 25-22) in Smith Spectrum Saturday evening.

Tech is 1-11 all-time in head-to-head matchups against the Aggies with the last win coming on Sept. 26, 2009 with a five-set victory over Utah State in the Thomas Assembly Center. In 12 matches played between the two WAC opponents, the Techsters have taken a total of eight sets from the visiting Aggies.

The Lady Techsters are coming off a week of conference action that marked a few firsts for head coach Adriano de Souza and the Louisiana Tech volleyball program.

In last Thursday's match against New Mexico State on the road, the first game marked the first set the Techsters have ever taken from the home Aggies as the visiting team. It was just the fourth set won all-time against New Mexico State.

In three conference matches played thus far this season, Tech has already taken two of the three matches to four sets, which matches the season total for four-set matches in conference play from last season.

The Techsters will try to snap a six-game losing streak Thursday night against the Aggies, who are ranked second in the WAC standings with an 8-5 record and a 3-1 mark in conference action. Utah State is 2-0 on the road in conference play and 2-2 overall in road matches this season.

Coming off a three-set loss to Idaho over the weekend, Utah State comes into the match with wins over UTSA and Texas State, and a notable five-set victory over Seattle last week.

Following the match Thursday night against the Aggies, Tech will play hosts to the Spartans of San Jose State at 7 p.m., Saturday in the Thomas Assembly Center.
