RUSTON, La. - The Louisiana Tech volleyball team will continue its two-game road stretch at 2 p.m. Saturday as the Techsters will battle the Bobcats of Texas State in San Marcos, Texas, marking the first time the two teams have faced off as conference opponents.
Tech is coming off a straight set loss to UTSA on the road Thursday as the Roadrunners handed the visiting Lady Techsters their ninth straight loss this season and their sixth loss in Western Athletic Conference action.
Despite the conference losses, the Techsters have stayed competitive in all six of their matches in WAC play, pushing three of the six matches they have already played to four sets.
Texas State leads the all-time head-to-head series 2-3 with the latest matchup resulting in a four-set loss for the Lady Techsters in 2003. The last time Tech came out on top against the Bobcats dates back to 1996 when the Techsters swept Texas State in straight sets.
Tech continues to be led on offense by a pair of outside hitters in junior Clara Vido and sophomore Bridget Benditz, who each have 129 and 90 kills and average 2.26 and 2.25 per set respectively. Sophomore setter Maria Coelho continues to notch assists, totaling 494 after recording 25 against UTSA Thursday.
