Techsters’ Effort Not Enough for No. 20 New Mexico State
LAS CRUCES, N.M. -- The Louisiana Tech Lady Techsters (6-16; 1-8 WAC) played a good match against No. 20 New Mexico State (17-3; 8-1 WAC), but it would not be enough as the Lady Aggies down the Techsters in three games by scores of 18-30, 20-30 and 17-30.
“We played well at times and not so well at times,” Tech head coach Heather Mazeitis said. “The girls showed fight and tenacity tonight. Our offensive efficiency was our main problem tonight.”
Senior Shannon Phillips finished the night with 11 kills for Tech, while junior Brittney Nakamura and senior Kristen Fairbanks finished with 11 and 10 digs, respectively. Senior Jill Walker tallied 19 assists and 10 digs for the match.
The Techsters will return to action Saturday, Oct. 13 in the Lambright Intramural Center against conference rival Fresno State. The match is slated to begin at 2 p.m.
