RUSTON, La. - After a tough four-set defeat at the hands of the Denver Pioneers Thursday night, the Louisiana Tech volleyball team will battle the Aggies of New Mexico State at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Thomas Assembly Center.
New Mexico State comes into the match with a two-match losing streak, having suffered setbacks by Texas State and UT Arlington. Both defeats for the Aggies were road matches.
Freshman Fenix Calderon has stepped up for the Techsters as of late, hitting above .200 in her last three matches, including a .290 percentage in the team's latest match against Denver, which resulted in a four-set loss.
The team will look to break a 13-match losing streak as it hosts the New Mexico State Aggies, who currently are second in the Western Athletic Conference standings.
The match tomorrow is part of a busy day for LA Tech volleyball, as the team will hold a free volleyball clinic at 11 a.m. Saturday morning for boys and girls in grades 5-8 in the TAC before facing off against the Aggies. Participants at the clinic will have the chance to be a part of an actual training session with all the Lady Techster players and coaches.
The contest against the Aggies will also precede Louisiana Tech football's first conference game of the season against the Idaho Vandals at 6 p.m. in Joe Aillet Stadium.
