RUSTON, La. - Louisiana Tech's volleyball team is set to hit the road for a two-game road stand with its first contest set for 9 p.m. Thursday against the Spartans of San Jose State.
The Lady Techsters are coming off a four-match stretch on their home court, and fell in close margins to all four teams, most recently a four-set defeat at the hands of New Mexico State.
The last time these two teams met, the Spartans swept the Techsters in straight sets in the Thomas Assembly Center early in the conference season.
After having pushed three of its last four matches past three sets, Tech will face off against the third-ranked San Jose State Spartans before traveling to face Utah State.
A pair of juniors in Clara Vido and Caitlin Germany leads the Techsters offensively in kills with 179 and 101 respectively, while sophomore Maria Coelho has the lead in attacking percentage with .215.
On the defensive side of the net, sophomore Maria Coelho has been a blocking threat as of late with a team-leading 53 blocks. Senior Stephany Salas is also averaging 3.64 digs per set for the Lady Techsters.
