RUSTON, La. - Louisiana Tech Volleyball will cross the state border into Texas this weekend as the Lady Techsters travel to face North Texas at 7 p.m. Friday at Mean Green Volleyball Center in Denton, Texas.

The Conference USA matchup between the two teams will mark the 17th overall meeting between the Lady Techsters and Mean Green in both programs' history with LA Tech holding a 12-4 advantage in the series.

Last weekend, LA Tech (7-17, 1-8 C-USA) dropped two three-set matches to Tulsa on the road and FIU at home. The Lady Techsters are currently on a six-match losing streak going into Friday night's match. Most recently, the Mean Green faced league foe Rice on the road in a match that resulted in a 3-1 win for North Texas (13-12, 5-4 C-USA).

When LA Tech takes on North Texas Friday night, it will mark the first of just five regular season matches remaining on the 2013 schedule. The Lady Techsters will return home to face league opponents Florida Atlantic and UAB Nov. 8 and Nov. 11, respectively, for the final two home matches of the campaign.


NEED ASSISTANCE? - Averaging 8.65 assists per set and ranked 12th in C-USA, Coelho, a Brazilian native, has assisted her teammates a total of 796 times in 2013.

CAN YOU DIG IT? - Freshman Alejandra Aviles seems to be adjusting well in her first collegiate season with the Techsters. Aviles leads the team in digs and digs per set with 306 and 3.78, as well as ranking 12th in the league in digs per set as a freshman.

THAT'S KILLER - Junior outside hitter Xzache Mathis leads the Lady Techsters with 290 total kills in 24 matches in her first season with the team. Mathis has a team-leading 3.49 kills per set and recently moved into a tie for fourth place in team history for kills in a single match with 28 vs. SFA. Rebecca Redgen is second on the team with 265 kills and is averaging 2.91 kills per set this season.

BLOCK FEST - Senior Caitlin Germany leads the team in blocks and blocks per set with 73 and 0.87, while sophomore Dalane Guidry is second on the team with 54 total blocks in 2013.

ACES ACROSS THE BOARD - Coelho currently leads the team with 40 aces and is ranked 23rd in the nation in aces per set with 0.43. As a team, LA Tech is ranked 11th nationally and 1st in C-USA with 1.70 aces/set. Additionally, after an eight-ace performance Sept. 7 versus New Orleans, Coelho moved into a tie for first place all-time in LA Tech Volleyball history for aces in a single-match.
