Spartans to Visit Lady Techsters for WAC Match
Brittney Nakamura and the Lady Techsters will host San Jose State tomorrow at 7 p.m. in the TAC.
Louisiana Tech will host the San Jose State Spartans hoping to snap their four-match Western Athletic Conference losing streak tomorrow at 7 p.m. in the Thomas Assembly Center.
The Lady Techsters (15-12, 2-9 WAC) faced San Jose State on Oct. 13 in California and fell in three games (26-30, 24-30, 24-30), but Tech will welcome the Spartans (10-12, 5-5 WAC) to its home court in hopes for a win in the rematch tomorrow.
Junior Ambra Hayes had 17 kills in the two teams' last meeting and leads Tech with 3.68 kills per game this season, while junior Anielle Da Silva had 14 kills in that match is averages 2.70 kills per game. Sophomore Shannon Phillips is second on the team with 3.29 kills per game.
San Jose State's offense is led by sophomore Jennifer Senftleban, who ranks first in the WAC with 4.89 kills per game in conference matches and had 17 kills in the last meeting.
After the Lady Techsters' match against San Jose State tomorrow night, Tech will play Nevada on Saturday at 7 p.m. in the Thomas Assembly Center.
