RUSTON, La. -
The Louisiana Tech volleyball team (3-23, 0-14 WAC) will play its last home match of the season as the team will square off against UTSA (16-8, 9-5 WAC) at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Thomas Assembly Center in what will be Senior Day for Gabryel Ording and Stephany Salas.
Ording, who came to Tech from Custer Park, Ill., has totaled 51 kills this season, while averaging 1.21 per set for the Techsters. In addition to recording 27 total blocks this season, Ording also matched her career high for total blocks in a match with seven against conference foe Seattle earlier this season. Ording has totaled 117 blocks in 82 matches in her four years at Tech.
A Bayamon, Puerto Rico native, Salas leads the team for the second straight season in digs with 311 with an average of 3.62 per set. The senior ranks eighth in the Western Athletic Conference for digs per set, and also leads the team in aces this season with 17. She ranks first in the LA Tech record books for digs in a single match when she totaled 35 against Houston Baptist Sept. 17, 2011.
Following a straight set loss at the hands of Texas State Thursday night on Tech's home court, the Lady Techsters are looking to finish the season with a strong effort against the visiting Roadrunners and send the two seniors on this year's squad off on a high note.
Immediately following the match Saturday morning, there will be a Senior Day presentation where the two seniors on this year's team in Ording and Salas will be honored for their effort and achievements in their time with the Techsters volleyball program.
