MOSCOW, Idaho -- The Louisiana Tech Lady Techsters (4-19; 0-12 WAC) will play the first of the final four matches of the 2008 regular season Thursday, Nov. 6, at 9 p.m. against the Idaho Vandals (15-8; 8-4 WAC).
The Techsters picked up a match victory last week against Houston Baptist in the Thomas Assembly Center before falling to both New Mexico State and Fresno State on the road. For the week, sophomore Taylor Fritz averaged 2.56 kills per set last week and helped lead Tech to a win over Houston Baptist Tuesday. Fritz also averaged 2.33 digs per set for the last three matches.
The Vandals have won three of their last four matches.
The last time the two teams met, the Techsters fell behind two sets before storming to a set three win 25-19. Tech finished the third set with 3.0 blocks compared to 0.0 for Idaho.
Fritz led the Techsters with nine kills, while sophomore Kara Jones finished with seven kills with a .263 attack percentage.
Sophomore Bianca Bin totaled 34 assists for the match, while three Techsters finished with double-digit digs led by senior Debora Bolonhini with 19. Freshman Kaylon Alexander added 12, while Fritz finished with 11.
Fritz leads the team with 1.97 kills per set, while the Vandals are led by Haley Larsen at 4.55 kills per set.
The match is set to start at 9 p.m.
