Louisiana Tech fans can now purchase season tickets for the upcoming year as the 2008 Independence Bowl champion Bulldogs host five big home games at Joe Aillet Stadium this fall. The Bulldogs home schedule in 2009 consists of games against Boise State, Hawaii, New Mexico State, San Jose State and Nicholls State. Season ticket prices will remain the same for this season ($125) and fans renewing their season tickets in full by April 16th will receive a $15 discount on the processing fee. Season ticket renewals will be mailed by the last week of March and are due by July 1st. Season ticket packages for families have been reduced from $325 to $275 for a family of five. All Bulldog fans can purchase or renew season tickets online at www.latechsports.com. Last year LA Tech fans were treated to one of the most memorable -- and successful -- seasons in the last three decades as head coach Derek Dooley and Co. captured the program's first bowl victory since 1977. "The momentum and enthusiastic support generated from the Independence Bowl has carried over to next season and we hope many of the 42,000 fans and alumni who attended the bowl game will come out and support Coach Dooley and the Bulldogs," stated Deputy Athletic Director Bruce Van De Velde. The Bulldogs return the nucleus of last year's team including 17 starters and all four first team all-WAC performers in Phillip Livas, Daniel Porter, D'Anthony Smith and Antonio Baker. Combine that experience with an incoming recruiting class that was ranked as the second best in the WAC, LA Tech fans have plenty to be excited about as the 2009 season draws closer. Joe Aillet Stadium has seen numerous improvements over the past few years and the upcoming season will be no different as this summer a state-of-the-art high definition video display board will be installed in the north end zone, enhancing the game-day atmosphere at Joe Aillet Stadium. The board will be the largest in the Western Athletic Conference as LA Tech fans will now get to see replays of all the Bulldog in-game highlights on the 1,485 square feet of video display area. "Our goal is to improve the game day experience for our fans and alumni and to provide great entertainment at a price point that is affordable for families and individuals" Van De Velde said. In addition to the display board, over 1,100 new chair-backs are being installed on the west side of the stadium to replace the existing ones. Season ticket prices for the new chair back seating will remain the same as last year's $225 per seat with a $150 per seat tax deductible contribution to the Louisiana Tech Athletic Club (LTAC). For the first time this year young alumni and fans between the ages of 18-29 will have the opportunity to purchase a special season ticket package. With a $50 tax deductible contribution to LTAC, fans 29 years or younger will be eligible to purchase up to two tickets at a special price of $60 per season ticket -- a savings of more than 50 percent on the regular season ticket price. Family packs consisting of two adults and three children (age 4-17) tickets are available for $275. Season ticket holders and LTAC members will be eligible to purchase up to eight single game tickets to the Bulldogs Nov. 14 game at LSU. Tech has been allotted a limited number of tickets for the game and orders will be filled based on the priority point system. All LTAC contributions for chair-back and sky box seating and parking benefits for the 2009 football season are due June 1. For the first time ever, Louisiana Tech is offering membership to all youngsters in grades K through 8 into the Tech Kids Club. For a $30 membership fee, the Tech Kids Club members receive great benefits including free admission to all home sporting events for the year, an official club t-shirt, membership card, invitations to exclusive club events, website recognition and more. "Our top priority is to provide our student athletes the best opportunity to be successful in the classroom and in athletic competition," Dooley said. "In order to accomplish this we must fully fund scholarships for our student athletes through LTAC. Growing our membership in LTAC and increasing the number of season ticket holders is critical for Tech to continue to grow our athletic program and compete at the level our University, fans and alumni would like to see our program achieve. "We hope all Bulldog fans will purchase season tickets and bring family, friends and neighbors and enjoy the college football atmosphere." New Box Seats As the 2009 Bulldog football season is eagerly anticipated, it's important that you know about some exciting changes taking place at Joe Aillet Stadium. A state-of-the-art Video Board will be in place for the beginning of the 2009 football season along with brand new box seats that will replace the current box seating area. These comfortable new seats will be Tech blue and will include cup-holders for each seat. In the fall of 2008, a minimum LTAC contribution of $300 was required for the purchase of box seating. The minimum contribution will now be $150 per seat (e.g., if you currently have four box seats, your minimum LTAC contribution requirement will be $600). Your premium seating contribution will be directed to LTAC, supporting all sports, and any other monies you wish to donate above the required amount can be designated to the sport or sports of your choice. The monies raised from the increased donations will go to fund the new seats as well as other facility improvements within the athletics department. All contributions for the 2009 football season must be received by the Louisiana Tech University Foundation by no later than June 1, 2009, in order for you to receive your benefits for the upcoming football season.
