The fourth-year tight end was named Week 8 John Mackey Award Player of the Week and, for the second time this season, Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award Player of the Week Honorable Mention.
RUSTON – Following a dominant performance on the field against Old Dominion, Eli Finley was named the Week 8 John Mackey Award Player of the Week and an Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award Player of the Week Honorable Mention.
The fourth-year tight end from Heath, Texas had a stellar performance for Louisiana Tech's Homecoming game against Old Dominion. Finley snagged a career-high 10 receptions and a season-high 128 receiving yards along with his fifth touchdown catch of the season.
His performance gave him 100 career receptions and 1,000 career receiving yards, making him the 25th Bulldog in program history to achieve both milestones and the first to do so since Tru Edwards (2022-24).
It is the second time this season Finley was tabbed with an honorable mention by the Earl Campbell Award, with his first recognition coming after his 9-114-2 stat line on October 10 against in-state rival UL-Lafayette.
Finley and the Bulldogs are on the road for a Sun Belt clash at South Alabama on Halloween. It will be the fourth all-time matchup with the Jaguars, and the first since 2022.
